In DIIS 2009 DIIS researchers present a wide range of research and activities of the year that was and which are currently taking place at DIIS.

In the preface, DIIS Director Nanna Hvidt argues that COP 15 was a wake-up call telling us that the world is changing and that new upcoming powers may not look very much in our direction. This is a challenge for all – and sets the scenes for DIIS research and networking in the years to come.

Professor Georg Sørensen, Chairman of the Board, reflects on the first seven years of DIIS' existence, especially on the great challenge for DIIS to do cross-disciplinary work in a way that enhances our understanding of complex problems and bridges disciplinary borders in a productive way.

Finally, DIIS 2009 presents basic facts and figures about DIIS' staff, finances, publications, and seminars in 2009.
